"If you twist for anyone, they like the twisted shape of you not you." - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie tells women.

Award winning novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, yesterday had the honour of giving the commencement speech to the class of 2015 at Wellesley College, Massachusetts. She spoke on her favourite topic, Feminism. She urged the graduates to try their best to change the world to one more equal for men and for women by giving men the freedom to be vulnerable, and women, the choice to be strong.
Excerpt and video from her speech below:

We can not always bend the world into the shapes we want but we can try, we can make a concerted and real and true effort. And you are privileged that, because of your education here, you have already been given many of the tools that you will need to try. Always just try. Because you never know.
And so as you graduate, as you deal with your excitement and your doubts today, I urge you to try and create the world you want to live in. Minister to the world in a way that can change it. Minister radically in a real, active, practical, get your hands dirty way.

Malala Yousafzai Receives A Letter Of Apology From Taliban Leader Days After Her UN Speech. (See Letter)

A senior Taliban leader, Adnan Rasheed, a commander in the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has written a letter to Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistan school girl who was shot for championing women's right to education, to apologise to her and defend the attack. The letter came with a disclaimer, stating that Rasheed wrote to her in personal capacity and that the terrorist organisation may not share his views. BE INFORMED: UN Declared Malala Yousafzai's Birthday As World Malala's Day & Beyonce Sent Her A Birthday Message + Her Speech At The UN.

Yesterday 12 July, was Malala Yousafzai's 16th birthday and the United Nations declared it as Malala's Day. She gave an extraordinary speech to the UN on her birthday, it was her first public speech since last October when the Taliban tried to kill her by shooting her in the head on her way from school. In her speech, she made reference to the shooting, saying "I've been shot, they also shot my friends. They believed that bullet would have silenced us, but they failed. From the silence, thousands of voices have been raised. What have they got? The weakness, fear, helplessness died but the strength, power, courage have emerged."

"I am the same Malala, my ambitions are the same, my dreams are the same. I do not hate anyone. I am here to speak for the right to education. I want also the sons and daughters of the Taliban are educated and if I were with a gun in his hand in front of the Taliban who shot me did not kill him. This is the compassion that I learned from Muhammad, Jesus Christ and Buddha, by Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Mohammed Ali Jinnah, from my mother and father and from my soul "

FAMILY: Is It Right To Flog Children? Watch This Video And Learn From It (A Must watch video)

James and Harry have killed me with laughter oh.....i just can't stop myself from lol. The 'Two Angry Men' discuss whether it's right or wrong to spoil the child and spare the rod....as in, if it's right to reach for the cane and flog the nyash of a stubborn child.

They both narrated many of their childhood stories where they were asked to paint the school wall with turbine, clean the school toilets with a sponge or count grains of rice and garri for your mother. lollll

Meanwhile, with the introduction of child rights and protection, spanking is now considered one of the things that leads to increased aggression in a child.

Take a look at the children around today, either rich or poor, majority of them are spoilt. Parents are helpless for the kind of children they breed nowadays and even teachers are scared. Kids flaunting dangerous weapons and the increase in violence in cults and gangs in Nigeria schools is alarming.

When i was growing up, there was nothing like "you are grounded" grounded wetin? Let's forget that oyinbo level oh....the violence and wickedness an African child portrays, oyinbo child cannot imagine it.
