"We steal because you never stoned US for It" - Governor Rotimi Amaechi quoted. (Video)

At a tribute event held in Lagos for late Nelson Mandela, Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, said Nigerians have not shown enough aggression or resistance against stealing, crime and corruption by political leaders. He said that political office holders steal public fund because citizens have not confronted or stoned them (including himself) for the act.
In his word, he said "If you see a thief and you allow him to thief, what do you do?...You have stoned nobody that's why we are stealing." He continued by saying "If you don't take your destiny into your hands, we will go and other leaders will come and they will continue to steal".

Obasanjo accuses president Jonathan of lying, destroying Nigeria & promoting corruption in an 18-page letter.

Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has reportedly written an 18-page letter to president Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of ineptitude and of taking actions calculated at destroying Nigeria.
According to Premium Times who exclusively obtained the letter dated Monday 2nd December 2013, said the letter is one of the most acerbic letters in modern history.
Excerpts from the 18-pages letter:
Nigeria is bleeding and the hemorrhage must be stopped. He said Mr. Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people, stem corruption, promote national unity and strengthen national security.
He said in the letter titled “Before it is too late” that rather than take steps to advance Nigeria’s interest and up the standards of living of Nigerians, Mr. Jonathan had betrayed God and the Nigerian people that brought him to power, and has been pursuing selfish personal and political interests based on advice he receives from “self-centred aides”.

Fans diss Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon calling him a 'political prostitute' after he pays tribute to Nelson Mandela.

The chief of staff to Edo State governor, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon, was called a political prostitute by a Nigerian after he paid tribute to late Nelson Mandela. It all happened when he tweeted a quote about courage by Nelson Mandela; and a fan asked him if it was the type of courage he displayed when 'Edo Widow' was being insulted by the state governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Hon Patrick Obahiagbon who happened to be at the scene of the incident didn't react to the news when it went viral, but he was quick to shield himself from the blames when someone attacked him via twitter, saying standing at the scene didn't make him guilty.
In honour of Nelson Mandela, Hon Patrick Obahiagbon tweeted:

Human Rights Group demands better poverty alleviation method for Edo widows.

Spaces for Change, a human rights group, has called on state governors to redesign their approaches to poverty alleviation to effectively empower the poor. In a statement reacting to the video, which showed the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, telling a widow, Mrs. Joy Ifijeh, who was trading on the street to 'go and die', the group said the incident showed a huge disconnect between the ruling class and the governed.

The Executive Director of Spaces for Change, Mrs. Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri, said though commendable, Oshiomhole's gesture of offering the widow, employment and N2m after the incident was "clearly an afterthought, mainly designed to contain the mounting public censure."
"This Greek gift does not in any way address the bigger issues of widespread poverty and street trading in Benin City nor does it serve as an effective deterrent to future offenders. He should instead, seize the opportunity to rethink and redesign the state's poverty alleviation approaches, ensuring that programmes and services that directly benefit poor citizens are put in place. The state should build on the momentum to develop social security and support-based programmes for enhancing access of low-income groups or individuals to credit or other economic opportunities," she stated.

Dutch journalist says Nigeria is filled up with plenty Oshiomholes who are not caught on tape.

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the Edo widow incident may have become a thing of the past to some Nigerians but the world is not going to forget it in a flash. Femke Van Zeiji, a Dutch journalist working in Nigeria used Comrade Adams as an example to how Nigerian politicians treat their electorates like shit. She added that Nigeria is filled up with plenty Oshiomoles who are not all politicians.
Oshiomhole incident just caught on tape how politicians think abt their electorate. And Nigerians have and will let them get away with it.
Oshiomhole: rooted in misconception it's ok to treat 'subordinates' like shit. No one criticises u if u bully housegirl, driver, employee...
I'm sorry to say this, but Nigeria has plenty Oshiomholes. They're just not all politicians or caught on tape.
Instead of wasting energy on another teacup storm, think about what TRUE equality among civilians would mean & how it would change Nigeria.

She disclosed this during the presentation of her letter of appointment into the Edo State War Against Indiscipline to her by Special Adviser to Governor Oshiomhole on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Kassim Afegbua at the Government House in Benin City.

Watch the video of Gov. Adams apologising to 'go and die' widow in government house.

The video of governor Adams Oshiomhole apologizing to Mrs Joy Ifije, the 'go and die' widow whom he insulted in Benin City. To err is human but to forgive is devine. I'm sure this will serve as warning to the people of the state who can't or don't want to abide by the law, help the governor to help you. Beautifying the state is not a one-man-business, its for everyone to do and for everyone to enjoy. Though the governor overreacted at the beginning but the man is trying but the people are not helping matters.
Good job Mr Gov.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole apologised to the widow he insulted, offered her N2m & a job. (Photos)

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has offered employment to the widow, Mrs Joy Ifije, whom he insulted last week, asking her to "go and die" while she was begging him to release her seized goods by men of the State War Against Indiscipline for obstructing Mission road in the state capital.

The Governor announced the job offer to the woman in a breakfast meeting with her at the Government House, earlier today, 2nd Dec. 2013. In addition to the job, the governor also offer her a N2 million grant for her to get a shop and trade; her job would be to join the state's War Against Indiscipline in the campaign against street trading and to keep the state clean.

The Governor who again apologised to the widow said
"when you put your things on the road a vehicle can run into you and they have killed some people like that and that was why I said if you are a widow do you want more people to be widowed? But when I said go and die, that one was said in a fit of anger. And I am really sorry. I want you to join us. We would employ you and pay you salary. You would help us to campaign to other women not to trade on road sides. We should not use poverty as a yardstick. We would also talk to taxi and bus drivers not to block roads when carrying passengers. You will assist me to talk to women and traders not to litter the roads and sidewalks so that people walking and driving can have free road. If they want to park they can park properly so as not to disturb others."

Pot calls Kettle black! Edo PDP diss Oshiomole for insulting a widow & promised to pay her N250,000.

I'm so lol in chinese language...this is the story of the pot calling the kettle black Edo State PDP has released a press statement, condenming the state governor for insulting a widow by asking her to go die out of anger for not respecting the law. In the statement, the Edo State PDP invite the widow to visit the PDP secretariat in the state to receive the sum of N250,000.

For many years PDP ruled the state, they didn't set up an endowment fund for the widows in the state and now they are using the mis-guarded utterance of the governor as their political tools for next election. Isn't it funny that it took the misbehavior of the governor for the PDP to remember the existence of the widow.

Delta State Government nominates a dead man for House of Assembly’s screening

LWKMD! This one is madness made in naija. I guess they were working towards making the deceased a ghost worker. According to Vanguard,
There was a mild drama, Tuesday, at the sitting of the Delta State House of Assembly, as one of the seven persons nominated to be appointed into Delta State Tourism Board, was discovered to be deceased.
The executive had sent the seven nominees to the House for confirmation, namely, Efe Afe, Peter Okolotu, Hyacinth Iyere, James Youmu, Amah Agbajoh, Abel Eyube and Joe Morgan.
However, during the screening, when the fourth nominee on the list, James Youmu, was called up, Efe Afe, who was screened as chairman of the board and a former member of the House, drew the attention of the House that James Youmu had since died even before the names were sent to the House.
Also, one Mrs. Gift Gomere, nominated for appointment into Delta State Broadcasting Service, DBS, Warri, was sent back when she appeared for screening, for being “improperly dressed,” while another person nominated for appointment into Delta State Rural Development Agency, RDA, Friday Okoh, was also sent back for unruly behaviour, as he was spotted chewing gum while standing before the Mace.

APC politicians plan how to cover up after RIGGING Esan North East LG Election in Edo State. (Video)

Nigerian politicians hoodlums are so dubious that they can go extra length to win rig their elections. The video you are about to watch will shock some people while others who are used to the ways of Nigerian political hoodlums will say 'na their way'.

Right before the LG election of last month, a chieftain of the PDP in Edo State, Chief Clifford Eineh, raised an alarm over the alleged plans by the APC to rig the council election in Esan North East LGA of Edo State.
In a statement, Eineh said,
"We are using this opportunity to call on all security agencies to beef up their strategies to avert rigging and manipulations during the council election as scores of strange faces have invaded our communities ahead of the polls. We are more particularly concerned about the security of lives and property across Esan North East Local Government Area, especially the hinterlands like Uzea and several other villages in Uromi. We particularly call on the Inspector General of Police, IGP, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services, DSS, and other security agencies to rise to the challenge of defending our nascent democracy as we have reliably gathered that there are plans by the APC - led government in Edo State to announce a concocted result on the council election in their favour from Government House, Benin City. Our people shall definitely resist any result that does not emanate from the election."

Gov. Adams Oshiomhole talks life as a widower, praised late wife & gave reasons why he has not remarried.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole who celebrated his 5th anniversary as the governor of Edo State last Tuesday in grand style discussed national issues and his life as a widower with journalists. When asked why he has not remarried after the demise of his late wife, Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole nee Akharagbon, who passed on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, after a protracted battle with breast cancer. The governor gave a long talk on how good and irreplaceable his late wife is and declared that his greatest regret in life today is her death.
Excerpts from the interview:
Why have you not remarried since you lost your wife?
I wish you would have avoided the question because really when I talk about my late wife, people may not understand why? You are in a position to judge whether to agree or disagree. When a man in my own case has the privilege of being elected as a state governor or president, your wife’s status changes automatically to the first lady of the state or the country with all the glamour that goes with it.
To have the kind of wife I had, who was familiar with all the police stations in Kaduna and outside, and sometimes searching for her husband who might have gone to work and detained by Police on account of trade union work, it was her lot to stand by me and she bore all the deprivations of a husband you were never sure where he was going to be at the next minute. At a point, she called me an absentee husband.

Why is Governor Adams Oshiomole's billboard on a private project? Is he a shareholder in Shoprite Edo?

On Wednesday 13th November 2013, Governor Adams Oshiomhole laid the foundation stone of $45 million shoprite shopping mall in Edo State. Just few days after the event, there are billboards all over the state thanking the governor for bringing Shoprite to Edo State. It's really funny to have the governor's billboard on a private project. Shoprite has already been existing in Nigeria for long and no one put up a billboard to thank Fashola for bringing it to Lagos State, nobody did the same for Enugu, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan etc but it's only in Edo state you have government officials brainwash Edolites, making them think that a shopping mall being built by a foreign company is a state government project and that he should be thanked for it.

Edo State Gov. allegedly paid N1,500 to thugs to fill up stadium for his 5th governorship anniversary . (See comments)

This is one of the many hilarious and insultive pictures directed to the PDP political party in Nigeria; it was taken at the celebration of the 5th anniversary of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole's governorship administration of Edo State. The celebration took place yesterday at the Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin city.
It's alleged that people were paid N1,500 each to enter the venue and fill up the stadium for the celebration and the most dreaded and wanted criminal in Edo State, Tony Kabaka, who happens to be the governor's right hand man was present at the venue with his boys.
*Non be me talk am so i hear am lol. Anyway, to confirm the rumor, below are some of the comments from both the people who were present at the venue and those who weren't; plus a pix of the said Tony Kabaka.
