UPDATES On The Extrajudicial Killing Of Ibrahim Momodu By Police DPO Carol Afegbai.

The latest findings and investigations revealed that the Police bosses in Benin City held several meetings with Edo State governor last week, where they threatened the governor that they would not help the governor enforce the ban on commercial motorcycles (Okada) if the governor does not retreat from his earlier promise to set up an inquiry to investigate the wrongful and extrajudicial killing of Ibrahim Momodu.

The police are doing everything to resist the truth from coming out and justice being served. They are using the Ibrahim Momodu's case as a bargaining chip to put pressure on the governor and the governor has already succumbed to them.

Edo State Government Halts Judicial Panel On Slain 400L Uniben Student, Ibrahim Momodu.

Edo State government has halt the action on the setting up of a panel of inquiry into the killing of Ibrahim Momodu who was murdered by Police DPO of Ogiba Police station, Carol Afegbai.

In a statement by the chief press secretary to the government said the government made the decision because a case file on the late Momodu's murder has been submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions by the police for advice and further action.

It said it will therefore amount to a duplication of efforts by the government to set up another panel of inquiry since the Director of Public Prosecutions is a government functionary in the state ministry of justice.

An Extrajudicial Killing Of An Alleged Armed Robber By DPO Carol Afegbai In Benin City (Video:GRAPHIC IMAGE)

This young man was shot in Benin city on 25th May, two days before the brutal murder of Ibrahim Momodu by DPO of Ogida police station in an alleged armed robbery attack. The 28-years-old Oghogho Esihigie was shot in an alleged armed robbery attack at the front of No.179 Siluko Road, Benin City, Edo State. He was shot in broad daylight by police DPO Carol Afegbai and was left to bleed to death.

The DPO of Ogida Police Station, Carol Afegbai, the same DPO who murdered Ibrahim Momodu was at a bar in the the resident drinking beer when she saw the boy passing on a boarding bike and shot him; after which she went to her patrol car and took the same type of gun she planted on Ibrahim Momodu and planted it on the victim, then left the young man to bleed to death.

This extrajudicial killing is now common in Nigeria and it is very heartbreaking to know that among the crowd, nobody was willing to help a dying man even if he was an armed robber. Human value now means nothing in Nigeria because people find pleasure in killing and seeing humans bleed to death. Everyone has become desensitized to the value of human life.

Meanwhile this amateur video shows that the police are poorly trained and CSP Carol Afegbai is into extrajudicial killing. The callousness of those charged with upholding the law and the glee of the onlookers seeing the distress of a dying man is really alarming. The people are now devoid of human emotions forgetting that it could be anyone and even the innocent.

The question is where did the murderer police DPO get the huge sum of money that was displayed  on EBS TV on May 29th, which they claim was found on him?

Meanwhile, the Edo Political Forum has filed a petition on behalf of the Momodu's family to the Inspector General of Police, Chairman, Human Rights Commission and Police Service Commission to take proper action against the Carol Afebgai.

Gov. Adams Oshiomole Promised Justice & Fairness Over The Murder Of 400 Level Uniben Student By DPO Police Officer.

Edo State government has set up a panel on the killing of Ibrahim Momodu, a 22-years-old 400 level student of the University Of Benin, who was killed by the police DPO of Ogida Police Station.

Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo State, promised to set up a panel of enquiry to unravel the facts behind the killing of Mr Ibrahim Momodu. The governor made the disclosure during a meeting with the family of the deceased and his colleagues at the University of Benin.

He said "What happened is very unfortunate. Anything that leads to death other than through a judicial pronouncement, as government, we will not tolerate. However, the police have offered their own explanation to us which is different from the narration by the students and the statement from the family."

The only thing all the sides agree on is that late Momodu was shot and killed. That is not in dispute but what is in dispute is why he was so killed. Whether the police killed in self defense or if he was killed because someone was trigger-happy."

He added that "every story has more than one side, particularly when it is of this nature. What we can do as a government is to try to establish the facts and have an open mind. I have listened to the statement made by the mother of late Momodu and i understand how she feels, being a father myself, everyone of us readily imagine the pain in her heart."

Every Boy In Edo State Is An Armed Robbery Suspect - CSP Caro Afegbua, DPO Murderer Of Uniben Student Speaks Out. (Video)

CSP Carol Afegbua, the DPO of Ogida Police Station, Benin city, and the killer of Ibrahim Richard Momodu, the 22 years old Uniben student who was killed for alleged armed robbery and buried without informing his family, speaks out. The DPO Murderer spoke without remorse, saying Ibrahim was an armed robber and that there is no innocent boy in the states because every boy is a suspected armed robber. She said he was shot and he didn't alter a word and refused to confess his member who escaped on bike. "We shatter bus to make sure we beat these boys, they have a lot of tactics. You will see a boy, he will just pass you...., normal boy..., the next minute he has strike...., so, i don't know where the innocent comes in...i don't know. So it's good to confirm stories if many people don't know what happened, it happened in the night...how many vehicles were passing..........."

He was a 400 level student of the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, with Matric number (LSC0807159), University of Benin. He was murdered by CSP Carol Afegbua, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogida Police Station, Benin City.
Date of protest :Monday June 3rd
Time 8:00am
Venue: Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre, Benin City
Dress Code: Black Shirt
More gist after the cut:
22 years old Momodu Richard Ibrahim aka Old General Ibrahim was on his way home about 2 minutes walk to his house, at about 11pm on the 27th of May,2013, when he was shoot by the DPO for walking late at night when there was no form of state of emergency in Edo State.

While we stand and look, it could be anyone tomorrow; so it's time to stand up and fight against injustice.
Meanwhile, Section 33(1) of the 1999 constitution as amended states that "Every person has a right to life and that no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in execution of a court in respect of a  criminal offense of which he has been found guilty in Nigeria.
Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Right guarantees the right to life, liberty and personal security and Section 4 of the police act submitted that the police is to protect life and property.

All efforts to hear from the DPO proved abortive. After consulting with the family of the deceased, the youths and students of Uniben have decided to come out to protest on Monday 3rd of June, 2013, with black Tshirts against the mindless and barbaric killing of Ibrahim and have the DPO arrested and prosecuted with immediate effect.

No man is free when others are infringed of their rights and only a fool will say "I will not fight because am not the person that is oppressed." It's Ibrahim today and could be anyone tomorrow.
